Maxine BrainDr Maxine Brain B.V.Sc. M.A.C.V.Sc. (Equine Medicine)

Maxine graduated with honours from the University of Melbourne in 1987. After graduating Maxine worked in predominately equine practices including nearly 4 years at Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital. Maxine opened her own practice in 2000 as a sole practitioner and has quickly built up the practice to now include another 4 full time and 1 part time veterinarians.

Anita BurkeDr Anita Burke B.Sc. B.V.M.S

Anita graduated from Murdoch University in Perth in 1999 and did a year of mixed practice before joining Maxine in 2001. She has worked with horses most of her life and gets up extra early every morning to work Standardbred horses. Anita has built up a strong rapport and lifelong relationships with many of our clients and is an integral part of our team. Anita has a very kind, patient and calm demeanour and is often called upon to pass on her wide range of knowledge and skills to Vet Students and her colleges.

Zoe PageDr Zoe Page B.V.Sc MANZCVSc (Equine Medicine)

Zoe graduated with honours from the University of Sydney in 2004. Prior to this she undertook a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Genetics at La Trobe University which she graduated from in 1996.
Before joining Maxine in 2007 Zoe did a 2 year internship in Equine Medicine and Surgery with the Melbourne University Equine Centre at Werribee. Zoe has also done Locum work with ToolernVale Equine services.
Zoe has a very outgoing personality and is passionate about equine medicine. She has horses of her own and loves and nurtures them all.

Dr Suzie O'Grady B.V.Sc

Dr Suzie O'Grady graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2013.  She impressed us so much when she first came to us for workplacement that we offered her a position at the clinic as soon as she became qualified.  Suzie has not looked back since joining the clinic and she has become a firm favoruite of our clients and patients alike.  

Alastair MacleanDr Alastair Maclean BVSc MACVSc

Alastair is a registered specialist in Equine Surgery with his main interests being respiratory surgery and arthroscopic surgery. Alastair graduated from the University of Massey, New Zealand in 1973 and was employed as an equine Intern/Resident at the University of Melbourne from 1974 until 1976 before spending time in private equine practice based in Bendigo and Perth. He returned to the University of Melbourne in 1982 where he worked until 2005 and was responsible for running the busy and financially successful equine hospital. Since his "retirement", Alastair has continued a private equine consulting surgical practice working for veterinarians across Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia. Alastair regularly attends the Kilmore Equine Clinic to perform specialist surgeries.

Simone SheridanSimone Sheridan M.B.A.

Simone joined us in 2005 as our Practice Manager. Simone graduated with a MBA in 2004 and has 20 years experience in the banking industry. She has had a complete change of pace and is now working hard on keeping all of us in line with her vibrant and sparkling personality.

Jenni CooperJenni Cooper

Jenni joined the practice in 2009. Jenni's background includes management of a team within a call centre, working with the rangers at Macedon council and some personal assistant roles. Jenni works in our reception area and always greets visitors with a warm welcoming smile.
Jenni like most employees at the practice has a passion for our equine friends and has four horses and a pony to care for.

Lee ShanhunLee Shanhun

Lee joined us late in 2006 after 5 years of working at the Australian Equine Behaviour centre. Lee assists in the office with invoicing, answering the phone and general office duties (she makes a great coffee). Lee like all of us has a wonderful personality and is quick to offer assistance to anyone whenever possible. Lee also has horses of her own and is a keen rider with her focus now moving into competition.

soodi2 Dr Soodi Hastie B.SC. DVM

Dr Soodi Hastie graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2014.  She has grown up around horses with her family heavily involved in the sport of polo.  Soodi has completed training in dentisty and is excited about practicing all facets of the equine veterinary field.
